Ramping up more public displeasure with the construction of the tanks could be an option down the road, but for now, Charlebois thinks it's calm discussion that's needed, to find a solution.

"There hasn't been any snow clearing at the site, and we're happy about that because somebody paid attention (to the uproar)," Charlebois said.

"The people we're trying to rally are into this. Everywhere they go, that's what they want to talk about . . . we've done all the noise we could (including a near the site protest a few weeks ago). The response from the people and the (interest from the) media has been tremendous."

"Given that nobody knows, it's natural that we ask," Charlebois said, calling for more transparency on the issue.

"Absolutely, I feel strongly about that," Charlebois said.

Charlebois said there's been $12 million in development with the Cotton Mill loft, "and at least $30 million more development in that area to come. Tanks don't blend in. Tanks are tanks. It's a tank farm."

For Chuck Charlebois, the face and a vocal one of the opposition to the construction of new storage tanks on the Cornwall waterfront, the cause has been feeling like a full time job.

"I don't mind being at another protest," Charlebois said, "but I don't think we need one right now. We need there to be an action taken, to reflect what people want.

Charlebois, founder of Groupe Renaissance Group, that aims for community revitalization through economical, cultural and architectural means, among other methods, thinks tank construction for calcium chloride storage is a bad idea for the Cornwall Harbour area, and that e mail campaign of his is directed at some heavy hitters.
